Designs by CDChilds

I've been checking out handmade venues and I found Designs by CDChilds and bookmarked right off the back. I'm going to have to check out 1000 Markets more often now!

There's the neatest stained leaves necklaces that come in such a bright array of colors. This necklace was nature inspired. It is made using art glass and filigree overlay. You can dress these up or dress them down. They are perfect with your favorite pair of jeans or your little black dress. The leaves measure 2 1/8" or 54mm long with a black leather cord included. You could even switch out the cord with your own sterling silver chain to make it more dressy.

My favorited colored leaf is the red one. It's so sunny and bold! Just like me!
Oh, while you are at 1000 Markets check out their Handcrafted in Seattle group. It's my home town and makes me want to go visit even more!

CS Designs

If you're a fan of bright colors, textures, and whimsy then you'll LOVE the shop I'm about to show off.

CS Designs caught my eye today when they were featured on the home page in a treasury and I immediately knew that you all would be a giant fan of the jewelry.

I am just nuts for this Shallow Waters necklace. It's so hot! Combine are a variety of turquoise, howlite, jade, lampwork and quartz. It has been finished off with an extendable sterling clasp and has a working length of approximately 17-19 inches.

It reminds me of a warm sunny vacation on the beach in a far away place. The necklace would be absolutely perfect for summer - a wonderful pool party accessory!

Anderson Soap Company

I am quite the fan of soap in a jar. The fluffier the better too. I tend to run around to all the e-tailers online and buy up their supply and lately I've had my eye on some super yummy fluff from Dennis Anderson.

Not only does this whipped soap look amazing but it's also special because it's Vegan! Vegan is key and also the theme of our Black Box this month!

You'll find a variety of scents we both know that I tend to head straight for the fruity and baked good scents. Iced Oatmeal Cookie, Sassy Strawberry, and Peppermint Patty are all on my list. I want to sniff them really badly. You can purchase a 4oz jar for only $5! That's quite the deal!
Yum, the Cotton Candy scent looks delightful too. Hold me back!

Ripe Cards

With Valentine's Day just around the corner some of us are already looking for the perfect card and tonight I found mine. It's safe to post my purchase here since my husband has absolutely no interest in reading my blog anyhow.

I found this absolutely naughty card at Ripe Cards and as soon as I saw it I knew it had to be mine! You'll find a variety of different Valentine Day's themed cards as well as a bunch of other types in this shop. I don't know why I just attached myself so quickly to the dirty one but well whatever - it made me laugh!

My favorite part of the whole shop is their shop annoucement:

Welcome to ripe cards. We're all about honesty, a wee bit of bitterness, humor, edge and a dash of sarcasm... We will never conform to the standard greeting card smothered in kittens with poems telling you to be happy but in actuality making you want to vomit. We will always say it like it is.

Gotta love that!

Jac Jewelry

I'm interested in ready other people's blog.

Today I got an email from my gal Janna, at Jac Jewelry, introducing me to her new blog. This is turn made me wonder how many of you lovelies also have a blog. I need stuff to read for ideas and what not so I ask you now to direct me to your blog so that I can check things out.

But before you do - let's take a peek at something I really love at Jac Jewelry. Check out these delicate earrings which are made with white Biwa stick pearls and sparkly Swarovski crystal bicones attached to a sterling silver chain. The Swarovski crystals are aqua, blue, green, and light and dark yellow. The earrings are accented with Bali sterling silver ear wires.

These are perfect for the summer time and the beach! Wear them with a dressy or casual outfit. Don't you love them?

Made By Mavis

I keep seeing this shop all over the forums and in the chat rooms on Etsy and today is the finally the day that I get to give the shop a little spot light.

Ana, the owner of Made by Mavis, loves making terrariums, they are the one thing that makes her feel calm when the day has been crazy. She can sit down working on all the little worlds and be at peace.

I think that we don't get to be in the great outdoors as much as we like, so seeing these to remind me of the simple things that we often forget about. I think this is such a clever idea for a shop and I want one of these for myself.

This large moss terrarium has very slow growing moss and other tiny plants. Requires very little care, just leave it in a room with bright indirect sunlight. Water every 2-3 weeks and whatever you do don't over water! This little jar will take care of itself. Don't you want one for yourself too?

Namaste Jewelry Design

"Jewelry should not only be worn as an adornment... It should be an enhancement to our overall being."

If you're really into wire wrapped jewelry then I totally just a sweet new shop for you. Namaste Jewelry Designs plays with a mixed media of silversmithing. Most of the designs incorporate wire wrapping, forging, precious metal clay, and casting. The stones used are all natural rock, semi-precious, and precious gemstones. There are no simulated or dyed stones. the owner believes in the powerful properties of natural stones so each piece has an aesthetic and healing design in mind when it is created. If you are interested in the properties of the stones used in a piece simply send them an email and you'll be granted an explanation.

There's many pieces in the shop that I'm a fan of but one in particular really catches my eye. My Happy Place features a beautiful peach colored Freshwater Pearl wrapped with thick sterling wire and oxidized to bring out the luster of the pearl. Simple, modern, classic... happy.

It's also available in rose, purple, white and light grey. All you gotta do is specify at checkout which color you'd like. I adore this!

Little Black Box Update

The Vegan boxes were supposed to go on sale this Friday but both the Etsy team and I decided to bump it back a week. There was a bunch of people who didn't know about the boxes and wanted to be involved so I'm giving them a few days to have their items arrive.

This will make the boxes SO much better this month. Some really cool stuff has arrived and I've heard that many more cool items are coming.

So again - The Vegan boxes are NOT going on sale this Friday but next Friday January 30, 2009!

See you then!

Paper Treats

I try to stay on top of who's hip and who's hot and by watching Martha Stewart regularly I'm always impressed with how many Etsy sellers are invited to present their wares for the world to see.

Over the holiday season I just happened to tune in when Paper Treats was presenting their totally cool gift tags. These are some of the most creative and beautiful tags I've yet to see on Etsy. People will most certainly take notice to these and ask you were you got them. I can tell that a ton of thought and tender love and care was poured into each of the designs offered.

Right now you'll find many Valentine's Day designs available for sale. Take a peek! Think really hard - who are you gifting for Valentine's Day and would any of these amazing gift tags work for something you are doing? My favorite ones are the Love Grows tags. Do you have your eye on anything?

Yes We Can!

Tomorrow is the big day. President Obama will be offically made our new president and I hope and pray that changes will come.

In honor of the big day I did a little search on Etsy and found this amazingly cool soap from Seattle Sundries. It's titled the "Clean Slate" soap and I think it's totally fitting. The description is even cooler.

If you are looking to wash off the residue from eight years of the Bush administration, this soap is for you.

Everyone needs a Clean Slate and now we can offically start new tomorrow with our new president! No matter who you voted for we can now all join forces and work for change together. Here's to hoping for massive changes for the next 4 years! Yes We TOTALLY Can!

Paradise Hill Designs

Tonight I get to introduce you to this beautiful new shop that I was just introduced to this evening. I just so happened to log into Etsy and saw that the featured shop was Paradise Hill Designs. I instantly fell in love when I saw some of the things that were being offered and just had to take a deeper look. Of course as soon as I did many items ended up on my favorites list and well here I am telling you all about them too!

This shop features unique small boxes, rustic yet refined picture frames, desk accessories, home decor, original wooden art cards, and unusual woodburnt jewelry. My three favorite items are the barnwood earring frame, the tealight bench, and the cedar wood earrings.

I have gained a huge earring collection in the past 7-8 months and still haven't found a great way to display them or keep them organized. The barnwood earring frame would be an amazing piece to have and I would no longer have to search for matches any longer. It'd also give me an excuse to purchase the cedar earrings too! I'm so bad!

What a terrific shop!

Maya and Ruhi

I spotted some adoreable beaded earrings a few weeks ago at Maya and Ruhi and tonight is finally the night that I get to share them with you. Actually, I think a ton of stuff is super killer in this shop so I'm really excited that it's finally their time to step into the spotlight.

These rainbow hoops are a kaleidoscope of colour surrounded by a big golden hoop. Glamourous fun, and bohemian chic rolled into one! Perfect for glorious summer days! Spring time is just around the corner and I can totally see myself sporting these.

I'm also really feeling this other pair of earrings. This happy trio of a striking turquoise, warm sandstone and an ever-elegant freshwater pearl. I like this pair for its unique combination of stones, and is ideal for everyday, and smart enough for a cocktail.

If you're anything like me and throughly enjoy most of the finds that I show you then you're probably a big fan of both of these items. I want so much!

Go Cards!

Well this is a bit exciting now isn't it? The Arizona Cardinals are going to the Superbowl! I wish this would have happened last year and we would have proudly hosted it too but I'll settle for this year and cross my fingers for a win.

Of course I just had to rush off to Etsy and look for themed items and this is what I came up with!

Upstyle Designs

I've been on the hunt recently for a bag or tote for my laptop. I'm always lugging this baby all over the world so keeping it protected and also being fashionable is important to me.

I found Upstyle Designs the other night and automatically bookmarked the goodness that I found. Now I'm trying to reason with myself. Do I really need it or not? Of course I do!! You laptop owners need one too, right?

When purchasing a laptop bag pay close attention to measurements and don't make the mistake of purchasing one that is too small for you. For instance, I have a 17 inch monitor so I'll need a bigger bag. I haven't found the right size yet so I need to send some emails off to see if I can get one custom made for me.

I did however find one that I really like that can be customized so I'm seriously considering it. This gorgeous lap top sleeve is just perfect for what I'm looking for. Hmm.. now I just need to finish talking myself into the purchase!

Vegan Little Black Box

One week from tomorrow our fabulous Vegan Little Black Boxes go on sale! I can't believe the time has already came. The Vegan Etsy team is graciously sponsoring the event and it's going to be really cool.

For those of you going um, Vegan? Hmmhmm? What's that? Let me explain! For you newbies Vegan doesn't automatically mean food. I've had email after email from businesses saying they can't contribute in January because they don't make food. Silly people! All Vegan means in the case of our special theme box is that nothing from the following list will be allowed in the box.

silk, honey, goat's milk, wool, leather, sugar (unless you know it is from a non-charcoal using process), beeswax, emu oil, Coral, Bone, Leather, Pearls (genuine saltwater or freshwater - glass pearls are ok, of course), feathers, milk, butter, angora, mohair, wool, cashmere, shell, gelatin.

Such a list! A very important list though. Basically nothing made from animal products! Easy enough! There's so much more out there and lots of fun stuff that is coming through the door. I'm really looking forward to seeing what comes from this box. I love special months!

Jimmy Pickles

I thought this was pretty neat so I really wanted to share it tonight. I discovered Jimmy Pickles about a week ago and thought many of the items in this shop were pretty clever.

I especially like this Measure Up wristlet keychain and pocket purse. This fabric is totally cool! This sweet little purse will brighten your handbag. Small enough to fit in your coat pocket and large enough to hold a cell phone, lipstick, mascara, money and more! It's made from 100% cotton and measures 7x3.5x5.5 inches.

The Wristlet Keychain™ is perfect for every busy person! Are you a multi-tasking mom juggling babies, toddlers, car seats, groceries and everything else on the daily list; an active lady on the go who likes to carry the bare minimum. A run to the gym, a quick trip to the store, a visit to Starbucks and then home to walk the dog; a Saturday morning tag sale maven jumping in and out of your car as you hunt for treasures. Always have your keys at hand with a fashionable wristlet keychain.

I don't know about you all but I have one of these keychains and they are the absolute best. If you don't have one now is your chance to pick one up for yourself. Tons of cute fabrics to pick from at Jimmy Pickles.

I found these amazing little purple dangly earrings this evening. I just had to share them with you as soon as I saw them and even marked them as favorites so I wouldn't forget.

Jewllori , straight out of Canada, is the proud maker of these babies. They look like tiny little purple UFO's and don't you know how cool you'd be showing them off?

Large purple Sugulite rondelles are attached to gunmetal fish hook earwires, and a round gunmetal hoop hangs below. These are so pretty and look really great against the dark gun metal finish! These earrings dangle at a bit over 1.5 inches in length. The hoop below sways as you move for a super flirty look.

I'm a big fan of the beautiful necklaces in this shop as well. If you aren't an earring gal then for sure check out the necklace category. What do you think about this necklace? It's darling!

Alchemic Muse

Looking for some beautiful cold processed soap? I was! I was on a mission and I most certainly found some at the Alchemic Muse.

It's beautiful and I want it all! Just look at how amazing these look! Alchemic Muse draws upon the centuries old knowledge of traditional beauty regimes, natural remedies, and aromatherapy to create truly distinctive body care for a luscious spa experience at home.

The olive oil soap is handcrafted in small quantities using traditional cold process methods. We use the finest vegetable oils and butters, botanicals, minerals, pure essential oils, high quality fragrance oil blends, and proven extracts and infusions. The lush, creamy lather gently cleanses and nourishes leaving skin soft and silky.
Um, yum! Send me a bar or two of the Sparkling Berry and Paradox soaps. These are beautiful! I want to sniff through the screen but I'll have to settle for just placing an order. Everyone knows my weakness for a licorice scented soap. I have no will power!

What do you have your eye on?

Green Eyed Gems

I was on the Etsy forums today and there was a thread about school age children or young adults having their own Etsy shops. I was curious about it so I read the thread and in the midst of it I was introduced to Green Eyed Gems.

The owner Ashley, of Green Eyed Gems, is a high-school senior and a very talented one at that. I adore her shop! She's one of my new favorites. There is certainly a very very bright future for her in jewelry design.

I particularly love both the Rhodonite and the Ruby Zois earrings. Both pairs are exactly my style and everything I look for in jewelry. They are simple and elegant yet colorful and would give a great pop of color to a dressy outfit or even a pair of jeans.

Polka Dot Candle

I don't know about you all but I love my house smelling warm and yummy pretty much all of the time. I'm constantly burning some type of candle and I enjoy when people take notice of how good it smells when they come into my home.

Because of my obsession with candles and all things scented I'm always on the look out for new businesses that can supply me with goods for my obsession and I recently found Polka Dot Candle.

At Polka Dot Candle you'll find a variety of items including votives, tealights, and tarts. I also have my eye on the container candles. I'm a big foody scented girl but I usually also go out on a limb and grab Pink Sugar scented candles because I like the scent of the perfume by the same name.

Don't be shy! Pick yourself up something too!

Some of you past black box buyers may have gotten to sample the goodness that Chocolaterra supplied us with. Man those chocolates were so good. I had the box on my desk tonight and that reminded me that I wanted to write about them so here I am! Let me tell you a little bit about this amazing business.

At Chocolaterra they've made it their mission to only use chocolate that is produced by companies with equitable labor and sustainable farming practices. All of the chocolate used in the production of our truffles is certified organic and roughly 50% of the chocolate we purchase is fair trade certified. Fair trade is the way to go!

I have my eye on some of those truffles and my mouth just waters as I think about what they'd taste like. I lust for the orange and coconut flavors! Yum! What about you?

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

We are long past starting to think about what we are doing the enviroment. People are reusing, reducing and recycling all over the world now a days and much thanks to many of our Indies that are helping out in the matter.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun participated in our November promo box and also send along some goodies for me to try. My most favorite goody was their Java Jamie. Perfect for reduction of waste I might add.

All you coffee nuts listen up! These Java Jamie's will not only make your coffee cup look fab but will keep your hands safe. Say no to the paper slip you pick up when you order coffee out. Just put one of these in your purse and reuse it over and over. Less waste!

Very cool idea!

A Stitch In Dye

This colorful shop was recently featured on etsy which is how I found it in the first place. I like to stay on top of the latest trends and by constantly viewing the things that Etsy takes notice in helps me relate better with my Little Black Box customers and blog readers.

A Stitch In Dye features quilts, pillows, coasters, table runners and anything else that can sewn on a machine. Most of the items feature hand-dyed and patterned fabrics handmade from the owner of the shop. She also like to mix in thrift, vintage and new fabric into all these crazy cool items.

My favorite items in the shop are the quilts and the pillow covers. The quilts are very expensive but imagine how much time and effort went into that. In the long run it's also a family heirloom that can be passed down over and over. The pillow covers are so bright and beautiful. I'm stunned by their beauty. I've included a few of my favorites as pictures here so you can drool too.

Just Bananas

I'm literally just bananas over this amazingly cool cuff bracelet from Just Bananas.

This magnificent cuff bracelet is part of their Fracture and Fusion Collection. The complex design fuses small fractured pieces together to form a mosaic type pattern. A coat of resin gives it depth and that glass like quality and dimension, it also adds to the strength and durability. The color combination has a playful effect and really puts me in a funky mood.

It'd be the perfect to piece to wear if you're looking to add a little pop or color to a particular colorless outfit. I like pops of color and this bracelet will most certainly do just that.

Bittersweet Friends

How about something fun and funky for a change? Maybe something a little different!

I first learned of Bittersweet Friends through the Indie 5. Buttonhead's Ali was showing off some new items she had purchased from Bittersweet Friends and as soon as I viewed the shop I had to add their shop to my favorites so that I could go back later and take another peek.

If you like cutesy food items then this is totally the shop for you. You'll find a variety of stuff including peas, cherries, cookies, pancakes, cookies, strawberries and much more with fancy little faces. These awesome little foody items have adoreable faces and are turned into brooches, magnets, and keychains.

I love just everything here and I bet you will too!

Penelope and Anastasia

Brrrr.. it's cold here in Arizona. I'm already thinking of warmer weather and summer time. I never thought I'd say it but I really truly did love summer here. I don't mind the 115+ weather. I enjoyed it! Swimming pool weather is the absolute best.

With thoughts of warm weather swarming around in my head I've been looking at new earring styles that look great in the pool. All of my long time blog readers will remember that I'm a fan of the turquoise shades especialy when it comes to jewelry. I found the cutest pair of earrings at Penelope & Anastasia and I just had to share them with you.

These are made with a cool blue rondelle and bright red coral beads. Also antique brass leaves add a simple accent. The earrings measure 1 3/4 inches long and are hung on brass hooks. People are sure to stare at these babies and I'll be jealous if one of you pick them up before I do.

Let Me Pay You For A Review!

I'm doing it again! Man, this is fun!

Show me your shop with items valued at $15 dollars including S/H. Simply comment here by posting a link to your shop and I'll check you out! I may even add stuff from your shop to my favorites for more exposure.

My readers have been emailing me thanking me for doing this because every once in awhile we have 15-20 bucks in our PayPal account and it's just burning a hole in our pocket. This is a great way to to show off.

I will pick my most favorite item by Wednesday a.m. and purchase it in order to do a review of your shop and the item. What a great way to get noticed and you don't even have to spend money doing it - I'll pay you!

While you're here check out my Project Wonderful ad spaces. You can place your banner on my blog for as low as .03 cents a day. No breaking the bank there!

Let's get going!

I was first introduced to Creasol last month when this amazing Indie participated in the December round of Little Black Boxes. Although we were full at the time I allowed them to join us and I'm so glad I did. Not only was I extremely thankful that they followed through with their promos but they also made me add lots of neat stuff from the shop to my favorites.

We're a big water drinking household. With that said we like to leave our glasses all over the place including on end tables and coffee tables destroying them. I'm always on the hunt for great coasters and I think I may have finally found some at Creasol.

I adore the mosaic tile colors that took many hours placing judging from the pictures. My favorite are these earth tone "Fire" coasters. They'd match my home perfectly and also save my tables!

Now I just need to save up!

Clever Girl Industries

I seem to like the late night blogging best. I just pull the lap top onto the couch and watch whatever is on the tivo while I type. It's the best and I might keep this pattern up.

If you're an egg lover you'll want to check this out. I found the coolest necklace from Clever Girl Industries. It was so special that I actually laughed out loud when I saw it for the first time last night.

This vintage Bakelite stone is set on a sterling silver cloud and titled Keep Your Sunny Side Up. I adore the quarkiness of it and can acknowledge that a lot of time and effort went into creating this great piece. Too cool!

I'm a big fan of a majority of the pieces at Clever Girl Industries and I know that once you take a peek at the goods available you'll be one too.

Happy New Year!

Well, it seems like forever since I've been here. It has been! I haven't been around since last year. I've missed you so and even grew a whole year older while I was gone. Yep, I celebrated my 28th birthday on New Years Eve.

Christmas was wonderful - I got everything I could hope for and spent time with my little brother Rob and his amazing girl Kristi. My father flew them in from Seattle and we took them to a hockey game. I boozed it up on Christmas Eve and Day but ironically spent my birthday and the biggest party day of the year completely sober. Go me!

My New Years Resolution is for the family and I to not eat out so much and also to not drink soda. Caffiene keeps me going during my long busy days and lately I have been really chugging and I think it's because I haven't been eating so well and loading up on foods that aren't so hot for me. Because things are so hectic it's often more easy to just tell my husband to run to the border - the Taco Bell border - to get the family dinner. Not anymore! I want to set a more healthy lifestyle example for my boys and actually plan on sticking to my resolution and hopefully my husband will help me stick with it!

I can't even explain on much rest I got on my break and also how thrilled I am to be back in the saddle again. I can't even sleep! I should have been in bed hours ago but I have butterflies in my stomach. The kiddies go back to school tomorrow and back to work I go. I figured I'd do my blogs tonight so I have the energy and the no sleep jitters.

Here's to a wonderful 2009 and new relationships I hope to form along the way!

Wiggle Perfume and Sundries

A word about the Wiggle:

The wiggle is about pushing back against the notion that all our parts are meant to be hard and flat and angular. It's about realizing how much power there is to be found in the curvy jiggly bits. It's about spending less time in the gym and more time in the bedroom. It's about relaxing and letting the good outweigh the bad. Rock what ya got! (It is not, however, about using those bits to get out of speeding tickets. At least not too often, let's don't ruin it for the rest of the girls, eh?)Mae West knew about the wiggle, Marilyn understood...a little wiggle makes the world go 'round. - Wiggle Perfume and Sundries

I love it.

I don't know about you all but I love smelling outragously yummy for my man. My shower is full of scrubs, body wash, and anything extra fun. I have shelves and counters covered in lotions, perfumes, and body powders. I know that when my husband nuzzles his face into my neck that I smell good enough to eat and Wiggle's products and descriptions make me want to purchase!

There's a perfume oil in particular that I want so badly. It's going on my wishlist until I fully talk myself into purchasing it. It really sounds like heaven. Black No1 is described a fall-minded blends, dark and sweet with a mix of blackberry, narcissus, violet, patchouly, and clove. There's also a little hint of rain floating around in there, 'cause it wouldn't be the same without some moody weather..

So much good stuff here. Hold me back!

Prizmatic Art

New year - new start!

I think I may have blogged about Prizmatic Art in the past but I recently spotted something something in this shop that I'm drooling over and I want to start the year off the right way. I'm a huge fan of dichroic glass art. Whenever I see something that contains this material I usually lust over it so it wasn't much of a surprise when I discovered this shop many many months ago.

For instance, check out these pink and green ridged dichroic glass earrings. I just love the shiny metallic material inside of these. Priced only at $16 these are completely reasonable considering all the time that went into these and the fact that they are made with two loving hands.

Or what about this tangerine dream bracelet? This bracelet was made with tangerine orange glass with an etched clear dichroic glass top to give the glass a sparkling velvet look. The bracelet measures just over 7 inches, and all six glass pieces were fused, ground to size and fire polished before being set into a sterling silver plated bezel bracelet chain. You just know that you're sure to get lots of compliments on it when you're wearing it as well.

Be sure to check out this amazing Etsy shop while supporting the handmade movement. You won't be disappointed.
