Moonpads

Last week I was hanging out here online with my buddy Eric and we were talking about all of the really cool handmade shops and that's when he brought Moonpads to my attention. I've never seen anything like this and I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to think about it.

Obviously reusable menstrual pads must have a market because this shop has made over 2 thousand sales but I personally do not think I could bring myself to using a product like this. That is why I'm asking those of you who DO use this type of product to tell me what you like about it so much. If I were to convert tell me why I should besides the obvious reasons.

I think it's a clever idea but it also kind of gives me the icks. Am I alone? Oh, and let me stress that it's not the shop that gives me the crawls it's the idea and that's just for me personally. I can see that many people are ok with using such a product. I just think this shop has such a following and I want to see if any of my readers here use these and why.

I think I'm with you on this one - it just icks me out way too much to think of using something like this.

I would not and could not use these. I'm pretty sure my daughter would not either. How many would you have to buy so you don't get stuck? It's like cloth diapers. The concept is great but ugh....

eeewwwww! I could not do this either. My Mom said when she was a young girl, you knew when someone had their period because thin cloths strips were hanging on the laundry line drying......eeeewwww!

I'm too squemish to use them, but they would probably be the only ones with wings that I can use as I break out in a rash from the plastic (I had the same problem as a baby with diapers, so I was one of those who wore cloth diapers). Do they have some sort of cleaning service like they do with diapers?

Nope - I just don't think I could bring myself to use these. I wish I could, though- imagine how much money you could save! :-)

I'm just not hippie enough to dig it.

I use these and love them! I was really excited to see them posted here but I'm sorry they give you the "icks". I will stay off of my feminist/love your body/hippie soap box and just say that you can throw them in your washer with no problem at all, you save a TON of waste and save a lot of money in the long run. I was so thrilled when I found them, they are adorable, functional, and super easy. You should try one of their "scrap" ones and make up your mind by experience. ;c)

Thank you Tracy for chiming in! I knew there had to be one person out there that would use them and I'm SO not surprised that it would be you. I think it's great that you came forward with your hands waving to say that you do and you weren't afraid to say it.

LOL I don't know if I could do it... It's a cool idea though...

I actually just ordered a full set and I am so thrilled with all of the cute patterns and colors! They are taking part in the Yart Sale on Etsy, too, so you can get a deal, saving money, the environment, and protecting your health at the same time. :c) Yay Moonpads!
